What is Vista?
Vista is the most recent version of WebCT. It includes a broad range of course development and delivery capabilities, rich content management features and powerful learning information management tools. The new version offers greater flexibility and usability to faculty who design, manage, and teach online courses as well as to students who take online courses. In addition, it provides better reliability and expandability than earlier versions of WebCT.
What are e-Packs?
Some publishers offer content in WebCT format that enhances a course textbook. If your instructor chooses to use an e-Pack, you may be prompted to enter an Access/Confirmation Code. The code should be included within your textbook. If you have any problems with it, check with your instructor.
How do I log on to WebCT Vista?
What is my username and password for my WebCT account?
I entered my password but I still can't get into WebCT.
Contact the Faculty Assistance Center with an explanation of the problem, your full name, WebCT ID and the course that you cannot access. We can reset your password for you.
What if I forgot my password?
If you forget your password, please contact the Faculty Assistance Center directly. We will be able to change your password.
Note: passwords are case-sensitive and must be at least four characters long. Do not use the "Forget your password?" option as the secret questions and answers information is not captured in our user database.
How do I change my WebCT password?
- From the My WebCT screen, click Change Password. The Change Password screen appears.
- In the Current password text box, enter your current password.
- In the New password text box, enter your new password.
I can log into myWebCT, but my class is not listed.
If you registered late, you might not have been added to your online class yet. You can either contact your instructor or the Faculty Assistance Center. Make sure that you include your name, WebCT ID and the course that you cannot access.
If I get kicked off the Internet during a timed test will it let me sign back on and resume the test?
Yes, as long as you didn't click on Finish, you can get back into your quiz and can continue taking the test. Please note, though, that the timer will continue running even while you are not on the Internet.
I cannot view this document/media file on my course page. Why?
You probably don't have the correct plug-in installed on your computer. Check to see if your browser is properly configured. We have links to many popular plug-ins here.
Why can't I access the chat room?
The chat rooms require that your browser have Java enabled. For more information on enabling Java, see Browser Requirements.
